I would get these reviews, look at my husband and say, “Wow. I think people (women especially) want something from me that isn’t therapy. But what could that be????” I’m embarrassed to say it took me years to figure it out.
We launched wellMAMA Live, a workshop for JUST MOMS, in St. Louis in late 2018, and quickly outgrew the 40 person classroom at my snazzy collaborative workspace. By early 2020 we sold out a 150 person event space, and started to create plans to take this show on the road….which were quickly pooped on by the global pandemic :-/ |
It’s like I can *feel* the germs just looking at this photo! I gave up on the idea temporarily, but quickly realized that women, and moms especially, were being disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
I would hear many women on Zoom therapy sessions say, “My life has changed a ton, and his hasn’t changed at all.” Ugh. It was a gut punch. I quickly, maybe a little hastily, launched wellMAMA Virtual. Our first round was a lot of me learning on the fly. What technology works best? How will the mama’s participate most? What engages them? What doesn’t? |
